Tuna Steak

Honestly, this is my first time to cook tuna, not canned tuna. I asked my hubby what am I going to do with it and he said just grill it. But instead of just grilling it, I ended up making tuna steak.
1.       Marinate the tuna in soy sauce, pepper and calamansi juice for less than 30 minutes.
2.       Pan-grill the marinated tuna.

3.       Saute the onion and put the marinated sauce.
4.       Put the sauce on top of the grilled tuna.

It turned out well and my hubby enjoyed the tuna steak.

The Journey of Being a Full Time Mom

When I decided to resigned from work, I know that it would be difficult for me because I am not used being at home. Two months after graduation I already started working so choosing to be a stay at home mom is really a challenge. I enjoy the first two months because I have time for myself, no work, no more graveyard shift and no more deadlines.
But after two months I really feel bored because I cannot do anything and I am stuck at home. I have all the time in the world but I cannot go on vacation because I am on bed rest for few months, I do not want to spend money since I no longer have salary and I have no companions since they are working. Well, aside from the usual household chores, most of the time I watch TV, surf the internet, bake cupcakes and read magazines and pregnancy books.
After  three months of not working, I tried to be a real estate agent but it is not easy so I stop before giving birth. When my baby came, my life gradually changes because this time, I have little time for myself. It is really hard to become a wife, a mother and maid rolled into one. Looking back the past; I cannot imagine how I was able to go through so I really thank God for giving me the strength always.
Since I am not used being at home and not working, I have tried to open my online store (www.mcsstore.multiply.com), it all started with my baby pre-loved stuff and then I decided to resell Greencow products since I am patronizing their product too. Ten months ago, I have applied to be a ghostwriter, I am not a good writer, in fact I hate English subject during my school days but I still took the risks and fortunately I was hired. I have been doing this for eight months and I resigned because it’s eating my time and I have no time for my son.
Then I started to make my own blog where I can freely write and share my story during my free time. I know that my journey as a full time mom will not end so soon and it is still counting.  I just hope and pray that as I walk this path, I will learn to enjoy and appreciate more my chosen career.

Viewsite Restaurant

There are so many restaurants in Tagaytay that you can try, it ranges from cheap to expensive one. We usually eat at Leslie’s because of their Bulalo but this time we want to try something new. We usually passed Viewsite restaurant if we are going to Caleruega but we never tried it, so we decided to visit the place and try their food.

What’s nice about this restaurant is the scenery, you can see the Taal Volcano while eating your meal.

The service crew are very friendly and accommodating, when I ordered Bulalo soup for P80, the lady told me that she will give me free soup so no need to order for Bulalo soup. The food servings are good for 2 to 3 person. The price is very affordable and it ranges from P170-450 per viand.

We ordered Sizzling pusit and inihaw na liempo. My hubby loves their pusit but I enjoy my inihaw na liempo. No need for soy sauce because their liempo is flavorful.

Ilog Maria Honeybee Farm

I have been using organic products for quite some time now and I have tried different brands such as Greencow, Human Heart Nature and now Ilog Maria products. I have been reading a lot of good reviews about Ilog Maria products so I have decided to visit the place.

Ilog Maria is located in Silang, Cavite, around seven kilometers before Tagaytay, Rotonda. It is not difficult to get there if you just follow their map. I only have limited pictures of the store because there are so many people at that time.

Revisited Lingayen, Pangasinan

Lingayen is one of the municipalities in Pangasinan and it is also considered as a first class municipality and there is no question about that because I used to go here since I was a child so I witnessed all the changes and improvements of this place.
We are all familiar with Lingayen because it is part of our History subject, it is our former president Fidel V. Ramos aka FVR birth place and one of the World War II strategic points. Would you believe that it is also considered as the most romantic place in the country?
Lingayen’s long beach is open to the public; there are cottages where you can stay if you just want to relax or if you want to swim. I have so many memories from this beach and I could no longer remember how many times I have been here.  Aside from Lingayen Beach, there are so many attractions that you can visit, with or without money. There are Provincial Capitol, World War II Memorabilia Ground Site, Urduja House, Town Park, Capitol Grounds, Sison Auditorium, Limahong Channel nad Narciso Ramos Sports Complex and Civic Center.

Being a SAHM (Stay at Home Mom)

photo from google
Time flies so fast and I could not believe that it has been three years already since I became a SAHM (Stay At Home Mom), WAHM (Work At Home Mom) or full time mom. If you think that being a full time job is easy, then you are definitely wrong. It is not really easy; in fact it is more stressful than working in corporate world.
Choosing to be a full time mom is not an easy decision for me because I know that I have to give up my career and future incomes. The journey is not also easy especially if you are not used to it, there are also times that I cried because I miss working and I want to have my own “me time”. But still, I never regret that I chose this career because even I do not have salary, I know deep in my heart that it is a rewarding career.
I am always there to witness his first cry, first smile, first laugh, first tooth, first crawl, first step, first word and other milestones. I am always at his side 24/7 and I am proud and happy because not all mothers have the chance to be with their child.
My sister lend me a book, “Professionalizing Motherhood” by Jill Savage and this book really helps me a lot and makes me realize that being a full time mom is valuable career choice. There is nothing to be ashamed of.

King One Rotary Hot Pot

I always want to try shabu shabu, but Healthy shabu shabu is so expensive, good thing that there is King One Rotary Hot Pot. It offers eat all you can meals and bottomless drinks for lunch and dinner. It is my first time so I am really clueless but the staff is kind enough to help and assist. He will ask you what soup you want to put in the pot, you can choose two soup from the following choices; Korean kimchi soup, Hongkong curry soup, Plain soup, Spicy Szechuan Soup, Century egg wansoy soup and Satay soup. We choose plain soup and satay soup. Then he gave us checklist of the ingredients that we want to eat, all we need to do is to tick the box of the ingredients that we want and he will serve it. We are also given free short order dish.

It is best if you seat beside the conveyor belt so it will be easy for you to get what you want or ask the staff to prepare what you want. P499 for eat all you can is really worth it because you can eat almost everything that you want, there are seafoods, meats, vegetables, dimsum, dumplings, mozzarella balls, noodles and many more. There is no doubt that there are so many people who visit this place, you can see different race here, there are Chinese, Korean and of course Filipinos.

Amici

One of my comfort food is pizza so if there is a restaurant who serves pizza I always want to try it. Amici is not a new restaurant but it took me so many years before I finally taste their pizza because they have limited branch. Aside from pizza, they also serve pasta, salad, gelato and other meals. It is a self-service restaurant so you have to go to cashier to take and pay for your order. You will receive a number and wait for your food to be served on your table.

We ordered Tutta Carne Pizza, Carbonara and Pollo Arrostito. We are all satisfied with the taste of the food. We even love it compared to Italliani’s food. The price is very reasonable and the serving is good for 2 – 3 people. We did not miss their gelato and my son loves it.

Bag of Beans 2010

Hubby was on leave and I was craving for food so we decided to go to Tagaytay. I always read good reviews about Bag of Beans so I decided to try this. I thought it is just a small place; I was so surprised that the place is huge; you can choose indoor or outdoor tables. There were so many people at that time so it was really hard to find a table and most of the good spots were taken. The place is really relaxing and I guess a nice place if you want to unwind, read a good book or just sip a cup of coffee.

It is not just a café but a restaurant also because they serve other meals aside from bread and coffee. We ordered Roast Beef and Pork BBQ Slice, I was so disappointed with the taste because it tastes like beef nilaga. My hubby is making fun of me because we already ate beef nilaga at home during our lunch. Pork BBQ slice is just ok, so we’re not really happy with our order.

We bought raisins bread. I do not like raisins but I love their raisins bread. Next time I visit this place, I would try their bread and coffee but will not order roast beef again.

World Psoriasis Day 2010

It has been 9 years since I have psoriasis, sad to say that there is still no cure for this skin disease but it is not contagious. It is really a struggle for me to accept that I have this because there is no one in the family who has psoriasis so I still have no clue where did I inherit this.
Two years ago when I started to feel depress because it is all over my body, I really feel so sad because I am doing everything just to prevent the flare up, I have tried all the topical medications and even phototherapy but there is no improvement. Having psoriasis is not easy because the medicines and treatment is not cheap.
But I still thank God for giving me strength to go on and making me realize that I am not alone. It is true that I am not alone, for the past few years, all I thought that I am the only who have this in the Philippines, thank God that I was able to join Asian Psoriasis Club, where I met other people who have psoriasis. It gives me relief that there is someone who can really understand my situation.
So when I heard that there is Fun walk on October 20, 2010, I did not think twice because I really want to be part of this and show the world that Psoriasis is not contagious.
