DIY Hong Kong City Tour

We’re lucky that our room in Yiu Fai Guesthouse was already available so we’re able to check-in early. After leaving our baggage we immediately went out to look for a restaurant where we could eat our lunch. Since we’re still not familiar with TST, when we saw McDonalds we did not think twice anymore.

I have to revise my itinerary because of the gloomy weather and occasional rain showers. Itinerary for the day: 1881 Heritage, Clock Tower, Avenue of Stars, Peak Tram and The Peak.

After eating our lunch we immediately started our walking tour since most of the tourist spots are walking distance from TST.

1881 Heritage: From MTR Tsim Sha Tsui Station Exit E walk going to Salisbury Road, turn right, and take subway, just follow the signs going to 1881 Heritage.

Clock Tower: From 1881 Heritage, take the pedestrian going to Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Then turn right and walk straight ahead towards the waterfront. The clock Tower is situated next to the Star Ferry Pier.

Avenue of Stars: Take subway again and walk to MTR East Tsim Sha Tsui Station, Exit J. Follow the signs going to the Avenue of Stars.

It was a long walk but we had fun even though there was an occasional rain shower.

After Avenue of Stars, we went to The Peak Tram. From TST, take the MTR going to Central Station and head to Exit J2, and follow the signs going to the lower Peak Tram terminus where you will ride Peak Tram. Good thing that I did not buy a package ticket because it is not advisable because of the fog so I just bought a roundtrip cable tram ride.

I’m afraid of heights so going up to the peak makes me so nervous.

We did not avail Madame Tussauds ticket because we’re not interested in the wax museum.
We went home early, ate dinner and rested. No more Symphony of Lights because we’re all tired.
