Holiday 2016

Hello! I’m back after two weeks of blog hiatus. It is a planned break so I can spend the holidays with my family. My husband was on leave since December 20 and December 21 is the last day of my son in school so it is a long holiday for us. Bihira lang yan mangyari in one year so sulitin na ang bakasyon.

So what happened to our Holiday 2016? Well, our holidays are not that busy if I will compare it last year because we had less Christmas get together. But this time we really enjoyed our holiday break because hindi na ko nagcram sa pagbili ng gifts and we had a long vacation. Yes, vacation na and hindi na staycation sa bahay. Hehehe!

December 21

Christmas Party and last day of my son in school.

December 22

I paid our Real Property Tax to take advantage the discount. Then we went to Alabang Town Center to buy our exchange gift for the family. When the budget is limited, we set budget for our gifts and we all know gifts do not need to be expensive to make you feel special. This year, minimum of P500 ang exchange gift namin mag-asawa. Hehehe!

December 24: Laguna

No stress this time because my mother-in-law decided to have our yearly get together at their house so less stress in cleaning our house, in preparing and cooking food. I only prepare for our potluck food. I cooked Crispy Lechon Kawali, Buko Pandan and Ginataang Bilo-bilo

When we went home, I cooked for our Christmas dinner. I prepared for Baked Macaroni, Crispy Lechon Kawali, Puto With Cheese and Buko Pandan. We opened our gifts and slept.

December 25: Tagaytay

We woke up as early as 4AM because we will attend church in Tagaytay habang wala pa traffic. Then we had breakfast at Verbena in Discovery Country Suites Tagaytay and we went home to rest.

December 26

We were busy keeping our Christmas Decorations, since we won’t be home for the next few days. Actually my husband didn’t want to remove it yet but I told him na ayaw ko na magligpit pagdating namin at for sure pagod na kami sa biyahe.

Then we pack our stuff for our Pangasinan - Baguio - Sagada Getaway, parang buong bahay nga dala namin. Lol

December 27: Family Reunion

We left as early as 3AM to avoid the traffic. My husband’s family has a grand reunion in Pangasinan, as in buong angkan so nagpagawa pa ng T-shirt for each clan. So for Team Solee, red color kami.

I was not able to attend the program because my son has fever so nasa kwarto lang kami the whole day. Resting and praying that he will get well soon. Good thing that the venue was in my grandmother-in-law's house so nakakain pa naman kami ng handa. hehehe!

December 28: Day Trip at Lingayen

We’re so happy na wala na fever ng anak ko, thank you sa Tempra. Hehehe! We dropped by at Lingayen beach, we’re supposed to swim here kaso kagagaling lang ng anak ko sa sakit so pahangin lang.

December 29 to January 1: Sagada

Off we went to Sagada. Initial plan is December 28 pero may coding pala sa Baguio so we moved it. Sayang, we missed the Bonfire Festival in Sagada. Expect for my Sagada series after my holiday post.

January 2: Imus, Cavite

Unpacking stuff and household chore in the morning. After lunch, we went to Imus, Cavite to fetch my grandmother-in-law.

That’s all! Tomorrow is back to school na. Waiting for the next holiday break

  1. Wow! So many destinations and surely you had fun. That's why I have seen a lot of Sagada photos sa IG mo. Love Sagada as well and I would like to be back there with my kids. The best thing about the holidays, I guess, is being with your family and letting them know how much you love them through your cooking and preparing their things. Happy new year!

Mabuti at walang conflict sa work ni hubby. Andami nyo napuntahan, I'm sure you had so much fun! Kami Bataan lang kami pumunta nung December. hehe.

  4. Wow what a hectic holiday! I've been meaning to go to Sagada since I was still single. Sana this year or once hindi na ganun kalikot si Cloud. Delikado pa naman magspelunking hehehe

  5. Glad you had a well-spent and meaningful Christmas season! I wrote a similar post detailing my busyness during the season - but we're not complaining, aren't we? Lol! We also had a similar gift exchange among extended family. It was impromptu so some gifts were really nonsense haha but it was so fun!
