If you’re searching for Michelin restaurants in BGC, one name that often comes up is Lore by Chef Tatung. A few years ago, my husband dined here and couldn’t stop saying, “Masarap yung food.” Since then, it’s been on my must-try list.
Living in South Luzon, dining in Bonifacio Global City isn’t something we do spontaneously; we really have to plan for it. Because Lore is on the higher price range compared to other Filipino restaurants we’ve tried, I saved it for a special occasion.
Reservation Tips for Michelin Restaurants in BGC
When we planned to celebrate Valentine’s Day, we immediately tried to reserve, but it was already fully booked. If you’re planning to try Michelin restaurants in BGC, especially for special occasions or weekends, I highly recommend booking early.
On the day of our visit (a weekday), traffic going to BGC was intense. Thankfully, we arrived just before our scheduled time since they only allow a 15-minute grace period before releasing reservations.
What We Ordered at Lore by Chef Tatung
Since we knew it might take time before we could return, we ordered several dishes to fully experience one of the Michelin restaurants in BGC.
Main Dishes:
Chinoy Fried Chicken – PHP 648
Beef Mechado – PHP 748
Laing – PHP 428
Ginataang Pampano – PHP 858
Steamed Rice – PHP 78 per cup
Serving sizes are generous and ideal for sharing. We weren’t able to finish the Beef Mechado and Laing, so we had them packed to take home.
Funny story: I accidentally ordered Ginataang Pampano when my husband originally wanted Sinigang na Pampano sa Miso. He was parking when I placed the order.
Best Dessert to Try: Turon Ala Mode
Even after all that food, we still made room for dessert:
Chocnut Cake – PHP 268
Turon Ala Mode – PHP 268
Inutak – PHP 228
Among everything we tried, Turon Ala Mode stood out the most. If we go back, this is definitely something we’ll reorder. It’s creative, nostalgic, and perfectly executed; exactly what you’d expect from one of the Michelin restaurants in BGC.
Is Lore by Chef Tatung Worth It?
For us, yes.
As my first time dining at a Michelin-selected restaurant, the experience felt special. The food elevated classic Filipino dishes while keeping the flavors comforting and familiar. The ambiance and service also matched the premium pricing.
If you’re exploring Michelin restaurants in BGC and want modern Filipino cuisine in an upscale setting, Lore by Chef Tatung is worth considering for celebrations or milestone moments.
