Just this month, we had lunch at Racks. I honestly couldn’t remember the last time we ate there, so I checked my blog and to my surprise, my first and last post about it was way back in 2013! Sharing that old entry here for a little price comparison. Hehehe!

“We revisited Racks restaurant last week after finishing my mom’s errands and getting my son’s X-ray results. It had been a while since our last visit. I used to love eating at Racks when I was in college because they had meals for less than PHP100 but that was a decade ago.
I knew their servings were big, so my son and I shared my order since he only wanted the corn. We ordered the Racks Classic Pork Ribs (P300+) and Sweet Smoky Ribs (P350+).

While waiting for our food, my son asked for a pen and started doodling. The staff noticed and gave him coloring paper and crayons. Kudos for the service!”
Fast forward to 2026…
We checked out their menu and noticed the Executive Sets and Blue Plate Specials, but we ended up choosing the Executive Sets. Each meal includes a glass of House Blend Iced Tea, steamed rice, and a side salad.
My husband initially wanted the Ribeye Steak, but it wasn’t available, so he ordered the Classic Pork Ribs (PHP635). I went with the Best Surf and Turf (PHP475).
Each set also comes with garlic bread plus one side dish. You can choose from coleslaw, corn and carrots, mac and cheese, gravy fries, house mashed potato, pasta salad, potato salad, or baked beans.
When they served our drinks, I was a bit surprised; it wasn’t iced tea but soft drinks, and there was no explanation given.
After about 15 minutes, our food arrived. I have to admit, I was a little disappointed because it wasn’t warm parang room temperature na. The only thing that was still warm was the fried fish. Honestly, if I had known, I would’ve just ordered the Fish and Chips Blue Plate (PHP385) instead. For my husband’s order, yung baked beans ang mainit.
In the end, my husband finished most of my food since he really enjoys Racks’ pork ribs.
Overall, it was interesting to revisit Racks after so many years and see how much has changed in terms of pricing and menu offerings. While my recent experience had a few disappointments, it was still a nostalgic trip back to a place I once enjoyed. It’s always nice to revisit old favorites and compare past and present experiences, even if just for the memories
