Better Late Than Never: A Handmade Mini Desk Calendar Collection

We’re already in the third week of January, and yes… I’m still making a calendar.

But if you’re a crafter, you know this feeling well when a project is already on your craft list, you just have to do it anyway. Late or not, creativity doesn’t follow the calendar!

This year, I finally finished my Mini Desk Calendars, all made using my printer and Cricut Maker 3. Each calendar stands about 5 inches tall, making it the perfect size for desks, shelves, or small workspaces. They are compact, cute, and functional. I also resized the designs to maximize my A4 photo paper, which helped reduce waste and made printing more efficient.

To make the calendars stand up, I created easel-style stands using recycled cake boxes. It was a simple and practical way to reuse packaging that would otherwise be thrown away and it added a sturdy, handmade touch to the finished project.

The Designs

I created six different designs in total: four floral designs, one owl design, and one supplies-in-a-mason-jar design, each with its own charm. The first four designs are created by DIY Craft Tutorials.

Floral Vase Calendars

These feature beautiful floral arrangements displayed in vases, perfect for anyone who loves classic flower decor. The soft floral illustrations make each month feel fresh and cheerful.

Mason Jar Supplies Calendar

The mason jar filled with supplies gives it a warm, handmade feel, perfect for brightening up a desk or craft space.

Calendar in Bloom

For another floral design, each month showcases a different floral image. The layout is simple and clean, giving every month its own little floral moment. The design is available on Cricut Design Space.

Mini Floral Vase Calendar

This mini floral vase calendar is designed by Amy Valencia and is available on Cricut Design Space. It’s elegant and perfect for floral lovers.

Floral Calendar

And this floral calendar with a note section is designed by Marta Silvestre on Cricut Design Space.

Owl Calendar

The owl calendar is designed by Apple Grove Designs, also available on Cricut Design Space. It’s cute, whimsical, and adds a fun personality to any desk.

Why I Love This Project?

Even though January was already underway, creating these calendars felt incredibly satisfying. It reminded me that crafting isn’t about being perfectly on time; it’s about enjoying the process. Plus, a handmade calendar doesn’t really expire. You can start using it anytime and still enjoy it all year long.

Using recycled cake boxes for the stands also made this project extra special. It’s a small reminder that crafting can be both creative and sustainable.

So if you’re ever wondering whether it’s “too late” to start a project, this is your sign to go for it anyway. Creativity always makes room.
