I haven’t tried booking an Airbnb before because I usually prefer staying in a hotel or hostel. I checked about 10 hotels before finally choosing CityInn Hotel Taipei Station Branch II because it had a family room available.

In this CityInn Hotel Taipei Station Branch II review, I’m sharing our experience staying here for 7 nights, including the room, amenities, and location near Taipei Main Station.

There was only one family room left, so I immediately booked it. I made the reservation about three months before our trip, which allowed me to take advantage of their 15% early bird discount. The family room rate can go up to NTD 7,000, although the price varies depending on the day. Thankfully, because of the early bird discount, we were able to get a better deal.

I had a slight panic moment during booking because my credit card payment was declined. I had to contact my bank to confirm that I was the one making the transaction. After that, I waited several hours for the hotel to release the booking due to non-payment, so I could reserve the room again.

• 15% off – 15 to 29 days
• 20% off – 30 days and up

So I was really lucky to get the 15% early bird discount for our 7-night stay last year.

Check-in time is from 3:00 PM, and we arrived shortly after that. After checking in, we went straight to our room. We also paid the remaining balance upon arrival.

Fortunately, the room looked exactly like the photos on their website, bright, clean, and spacious. The 30-square-meter family room has two standard double beds (150 cm x 195 cm each), which were perfect for our group of four.

We brought our own toiletries because of this notice from the hotel:

In accordance with government environmental policies, starting January 1, 2025, disposable toiletries such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, shaving cream, shower caps, and combs will no longer be provided in guest rooms. Guests may purchase these items from the front desk if needed.

However, the bathroom still had shampoo and body wash dispensers, which were convenient.

The hotel also offers airport pick-up and drop-off services. Here’s the price breakdown:

• 1–2 people: NTD 1,300
• 3–4 people: NTD 1,400
• 4–6 people: NTD 1,700

For airport pick-up, you need to fill out a form in advance. For airport drop-off, you can arrange it at the hotel. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours before departure, and payment is cash only.

We availed of the airport drop-off service because we had an early flight home. We checked out at 3:30 AM. While checking out, I noticed the hotel had noodles available; apparently, there was a free midnight snack! Sadly, I only discovered it at check-out, so I didn’t get to try it.

The hotel is very convenient because it’s close to the MRT station, shopping malls, convenience stores, fast food chains, and restaurants, making it a great base for exploring Taipei.

If you're arriving from Taoyuan International Airport, one of the easiest ways to reach the hotel is by taking the Airport MRT.

From the airport, take the Airport MRT to Taipei Main Station. The journey takes around 35–40 minutes. Once you arrive at Taipei Main Station, the hotel is just a short walk away.

Another important thing to know when booking is that CityInn Hotel Taipei Station Branch II, it only has one family room, which can accommodate up to four people. Because there is only one available, it can get booked quickly, especially during peak travel seasons, so it’s best to reserve several months in advance.

If you’re looking for a hotel near Taipei Main Station, CityInn Hotel Taipei Station Branch II is a convenient option because of its central location and comfortable family room.

• Ximending – a popular shopping and entertainment district known for street food, shops, and nightlife.
• Ningxia Night Market – one of Taipei’s famous night markets, where you can try local Taiwanese street food.
• Taipei Underground Mall – a long underground shopping area connected to Taipei Main Station.
• Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall – a famous historical landmark and tourist attraction in Taipei.

Because the hotel is located near Taipei’s main transportation hub, it’s easy to explore other parts of the city using the MRT.
