Last month, just before heading off on our vacation, I joined the Arfs and Crafts 5th Birthday Giveaway Challenge, a celebration of creativity, community, and five amazing years of crafting inspiration.
I may not have taken home the grand prize, but I’m incredibly grateful to have received a PHP 500 shopping voucher as a consolation prize. More than that, the experience itself was such a fulfilling creative journey.

5th Birthday Cake Topper
To kick things off, I made a custom cake topper to celebrate the occasion. I recreated the project from Cricut Design Space. I just tweaked the design and changed the color to my preference. Made using my Cricut Maker 3 and glitter cardstock, this piece was all about capturing that festive, milestone energy.
There’s something extra special about crafting for a celebration—it feels like you’re adding a little piece of joy to the moment.
Puppy + Cake Birthday Topper
Next came a playful, paw-some design: a puppy and cake birthday topper.
“Cake + pup = the pawfect combo!”
This project was pure fun. It brought together cute elements and cheerful vibes, perfect for any dog lover’s celebration. The SVG file is from Craft with Sarah.
Hexagon Box Card
I recreated a hexagon box card from Cricut Design Space, too. There are balloons and a layered Happy Birthday.
It’s one of those projects that reminds me why I love paper crafting, turning simple materials into something interactive and meaningful.
Handmade Birthday Chip Bag
I also designed a custom birthday chip bag. One of my favorite party additions!

They also add a personal touch that store-bought items just can’t match. This project really highlights how small details can elevate an entire celebration.
Milk Gift Box
Another highlight was my milk gift box, created using print-then-cut techniques on photo paper.
I designed a custom pattern featuring the Arfs and Crafts logo, then brought it to life with clean cuts and precise scoring.
It’s the perfect little container for candies or treats, simple, functional, and charming.
Birthday Cricut Cuties Cupcake Toppers
For my final project, I challenged myself to use all 11 Birthday Cricut Cuties on Cricut Design Space, and I’m so glad I did!
Turning each design into a cupcake topper took days of crafting, patience, and attention to detail. But seeing them all come together was incredibly rewarding.
These toppers are bright, fun, and full of personality, exactly what a birthday celebration needs.
Reflections
Every project I make tells a story of time, effort, and love for the craft. And even though I didn’t win the top prize, I walked away with something more valuable: inspiration, experience, and a deeper appreciation for what I can create.
