Where to Stay in Singapore: Robertson Quay Hotel

A couple of months before my husband and father-in-law took a trip to Singapore, I booked them a 3-night stay at Robertson Quay Hotel. My husband and I were looking for something affordable, safe, and centrally located, and this hotel checked all those boxes.

I booked directly on their website and took advantage of their 30 Days in Advance Promo Rate. For a 3-night stay, the rate was SGD 301.26 for a Standard Twin Room. There was a note that said "charged on booking," but I was surprised when the amount was not posted on our credit card. So, my husband ended up paying for the accommodation upon arrival.

Location

The hotel is located right along the scenic Robertson Quay area, a peaceful stretch of the Singapore River lined with restaurants, cafés, and walking paths. It is also close to Clarke Quay and other central attractions, making it a convenient base for exploring the city. The hotel is near Fort Canning MRT Station, which adds to its accessibility.

The Room

The room was small, as expected for a budget hotel in Singapore, but it had everything they needed. It included a private bathroom, air conditioning, a comfortable bed, and Wi-Fi. While not luxurious, it was clean and functional, which was perfect since they spent most of their time out sightseeing.

Meals

Breakfast was not included, but that turned out to be a good thing. With so many food options nearby, from hawker centres to riverside cafés, they had the freedom to try something different each morning. They also visited a grocery store to buy bread, fruits, drinks, and snacks that they could eat at the hotel or take with them while exploring Singapore.

Robertson Quay Hotel was a practical and convenient choice for their trip. It is a no-frills kind of place, but its great location and reasonable price made it a good fit for a short stay. It is ideal for travelers who just need a clean and comfortable place to rest after a full day out in the city.

The hotel also offers a swimming pool and gym, but since they were busy exploring, they did not get to use these amenities.

This is our seventh hotel booking in Singapore. You can check my “Where to Stay in Singapore” post to see the full list. If you are planning another low-key, budget-friendly trip, Robertson Quay Hotel is worth considering.
