Back-to-school season is just around the corner, but our Recognition Day celebration was only held last week. After the event, I asked my son where he wanted to celebrate, and without hesitation, he said, "Ippon Yari."
In my mind, I was thinking, "Doon ulit?" I had been searching for a new restaurant to try for a change, but in the end, we settled on Ippon Yari. Baka ako pa ang masisi kung hindi masarap ang bagong suggestion ko. Hehehe!
After the Recognition Day program, we still had time to go home and change clothes before heading to Ippon Yari at Alabang West Parade. We arrived just in time for their 11:00 AM opening.
Since it was my mom’s first visit to Ippon Yari, we chose one of their traditional Japanese-style tables where guests remove their shoes before sitting. It added a nice touch to the dining experience.
Whenever we dine here, my usual order is the Tonkatsu, while my son always goes for the Chashumen. My husband ordered the Beef Curry, and my mom initially chose the Chirashi Sushi. However, I also suggested the Shogayaki + Teishoku because I thought she might prefer a hot meal.
What We Ordered
· Tonkatsu – PHP 340 + Teishoku (Set Meal) – PHP 110
· Chashumen – PHP 490
· Beef Curry – PHP 480
· Chirashi Sushi – PHP 590
· Shogayaki – PHP 320 + Teishoku (Set Meal) – PHP 110
As usual, while waiting for our food, the staff served complimentary wet towels, salad, water, and hot tea.
When our orders arrived, I was surprised to discover that the Chirashi Sushi was actually served as a rice bowl. Since I had also ordered the Shogayaki Set Meal for my mom, she ended up with two servings of rice. Hehehe!
While waiting for the bill, the staff also served complimentary iced coffee. It was the perfect way to cap off our satisfying lunch and one of those little extras that make dining at Ippon Yari even more memorable.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, especially my mom. I think she appreciated the change since she usually eats at Filipino restaurants with my aunt. It was a nice break from her usual dining routine and a great way to celebrate my son's achievement.
Once again, Ippon Yari proved to be a reliable choice for family celebrations. The food was satisfying, the service was attentive, and everyone left happy and full.
