Chinese New Year Cupcake Topper

I created a festive Chinese New Year cupcake topper featuring a traditional Chinese man and woman, along with the 2026 Year of the Horse. This project is simple, beginner-friendly, and perfect for adding a handmade touch to CNY treats.

Materials and Tools:

Cricut Maker 3
Printer
Glossy photo paper
Lollipop sticks
Foam tape
Tape

Step 1: Prepare the Images

In Cricut Design Space, start by setting up your images:

Chinese man and woman:
Duplicate each image, then flip one copy horizontally so the two images will be back to back.

2026 Horse image:
Simply duplicate the image; no flipping needed.

This ensures the topper looks finished and neat from both the front and back.

Step 2: Print and Cut

Print the images on glossy photo paper using your printer.
Load the printed sheet into your Cricut Maker 3 and cut the images using the Print Then Cut feature.

Step 3: Assemble the Cupcake Topper

Take one image and tape the lollipop stick to the center of the back.
Add foam tape over the stick and around the image to create dimension.
Align and place the duplicated image on top, sealing everything together back to back.
Repeat the same steps for the 2026 Horse topper.

Final Touch

Once assembled, insert the topper into a cupcake for an instant Chinese New Year–themed decoration.

This project is a fun way to combine paper crafting with festive celebrations, and it’s my entry for Bee Happy Weeklies Week 6.

Hello 2026: Starting the Year with Cake Topper Creations

Welcome to my very first blog post of 2026! As we step into a new year filled with celebrations, I wanted to kick things off by sharing some cake topper designs I created last December. These pieces were made with love to close out the year and are perfect for birthdays and special moments in 2026.

Hello Thirty Cake Topper

Turning 30 is a milestone worth celebrating in style. The Hello Thirty Cake Topper was made using a beautiful combination of gold, black, silver, and holographic cardstock. This mix gives the topper a bold, elegant look that stands out on any birthday cake and photographs beautifully. I used Festive Font.

Happy Birthday Deody Cake Topper

This Happy Birthday Cake Topper was crafted with holographic and black cardstock, creating a sleek contrast that works for any age or theme. It’s a versatile topper that adds just the right amount of sparkle to any birthday celebration. I used Birthday Verygood Font.

2026 Cake Topper

I bought Black Velvet Cake from Cafe Mary Grace, and to welcome the new year, I also created a 2026 Cake Topper. Made with gold, black, and holographic cardstock, this topper is perfect for New Year celebrations, milestone birthdays, and events happening throughout 2026. It’s a simple yet stylish way to mark the year.

Although these cake toppers were made last December, I’m excited to feature them as I begin blogging in 2026. Here’s to a year filled with beautiful celebrations and more handmade designs.

Chinese New Year Cupcake Topper

After finishing my 3D Nativity Craft Project, I took a break and told myself, sa February na ko mag-craft. Napagod ako kakagawa ng Christmas craft projects but I spoke too soon, hindi ko pala kaya. hehehe!

I have so many Valentine’s craft projects that I wanted to do pero mas mauuna yung Chinese New Year so yesterday, I made these Chinese New Year Cupcake Toppers using glitter, foil, and smooth cardstock.

The SVG files are from the Bearly Art website. At first, I wanted to make a wall decor but I had so many paper scraps so I decided to make a cupcake topper instead.

This was my Lunar New Year entry for Bee Happy Crafts Weeklies 4 and Cricut Philippines Flex It Friday.

New Year Photo Props

Hello 2025! Happy New Year!

Wow, first day of the year and may blog entry ako. Baka sipagin na ulit ako magblog kung magstart ako ng January 1. Hehehe!

As I looked back, I felt happy and relax this past holiday, feeling ko hindi ako stress ngayon compared sa ibang holidays. Maybe because, maaga ko bumili ng gifts and even yung mga handmade gifts ko, hindi naman ako nastress sa paggawa. I did not cook this holiday, nag-order lang ako food and bumili ng potluck. We did not travel except for our Christmas Staycation in Pampanga. Surprisngly, hindi kami natraffic sa biyahe kahit holiday siya.

And for our New Year’s Eve celebration, my husband was the one who prepared for it. Simple dinner lang naman since ayaw namin ng maraming leftover. My only contribution is my New Year Photo Props. Gumawa ako ng props para hindi ko makalimutan magpicture. Last year, wala kaming picture.
