Ingredients and materials are always available in your kitchen; all you need is flour, salt, and water for the dough. Bowl, rolling pin, cookie-cutter, straw, or paint if you want to color.
Preheat the oven to 325F.
Mix 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup salt, and 1/2 cup water and knead the dough.
Roll the dough and cut shapes using a cookie cutter
You can paint the ornaments or use food coloring while mixing the dough.
Our salt dough ornaments were not that successful because some puffed, so they didn’t look good. But I will make this project again and reduce the thickness, and hope it won’t puff again. We enjoyed doing this activity even though it was not that successful. And next time, I will use acrylic paint.
Wow! Look at that! It looks so good; and what a novelty idea!
ReplyDeleteThese are really awesome! I bet your son had fun doing the ornaments as well. Good job!
