Summer Craft Projects

I’m not super busy this May, so I have time for crafting and blogging. So this month, I started joining Bee Happy Weeklies Challenges.

Summer Travel Shadow Box

One of the themes is Summer Vibes, so I cut the Summer Travel Shadow Box to complete my Family Outing Vibes. And dinala ko talaga sa outing namin for pictorial. Hehehe!

The Summer Travel from Summer Craft Party of The Bearded Housewife and the Summer Gnomes and Swimming Gnomes are designed by Craft with Sarah. I already cut the gnomes last year and brought them to Melbourne Australia, but forgot to take photos, yung Beach Hut lang ang nakunan ko ng pictures,

Summer Gnomes and Swimming Gnomes

Hello Summer Card

This Hello Summer Card is an insert card, but I changed it to a coloring card. This is from the Summer Craft Party of The Bearded Housewife.

Summer on the Beach Shadow Box Card

This shadow box is from the Summer Craft Party of the Bearded Housewife, too. I love this shadow box.

Lady on the Beach

I like this Lady on the Beach, it reminds me of Boracay, and I don’t know why it took me so long to cut this design. The SVG file is also designed by Craft with Sarah.

Summer Truck

This is from Craft with Sarah's Truck Collection.

Flamingo Card

The Flamingo Card is designed by Dreaming Tree. If you have a Creative Fabrica Subscription, you can download this file at no extra cost.

Summer Gift Tags

I love cutting gift tags because I can use my paper scraps. These Summer Gift Tags are also designed by Dreaming Tree.

The following shadow boxes are designed by My 3D SVG. I cut these layered crafts, maybe two years ago, but forgot to share them.

Family Get-Together at Jim Homes Private Pool

Just this week, I blogged about our Mother’s Getaway at the Palm Beach Resort, and now I’m pressuring myself to blog about the different resorts we have visited for the past two years. Let me start with Jim Homes Private Pool in Valenzuela.

Last year, my mom and aunt were back in the Philippines, so we had a family get-together at Jim Homes Private Pool. My aunt suggested this resort. The resort looks new, clean, and it is also big compared to other resorts that we’ve tried in Valenzuela.

The weekend day rate is PHP15,000 for 20 people and additional PHP200 in excess. The room is not yet included, so we paid an additional PHP2,000 for an air-conditioned room with a toilet and bath. To confirm the reservation, a 50% down payment is required.

Amenities:

• 3 Shower area near the pool
• 3 Toilet area near the pool
• Gazebo with free use of Videoke
• BBQ Griller (Charcoal not included)
• Free access to Wifi
• Free access to Netflix
• Microwave
• Rice Cooker
• Kitchen equipped with basic pots, pans, cooking utensils, a knife and a chopping board
• Water Dispenser (Free 10 Gallons and Additional 30pesos/5 Gallons)
• 2 Burner Gas Stove (Additional 500)
• Adult Swimming Pool (3 ft- 5 ft)
• Kiddie Pool (3ft)
• 24/7 surveillance cameras
• Parking max of 30 cars.

Don’t forget to bring your own utensils, toiletries, and towels. My sister-in-law ordered food from Angel’s Wings and Heartwarming Meals; we had chicken wings, menudo, beef kaldereta, lumpiang shanghai, kare-kare, and spaghetti.

This resort is ideal for bigger groups, but since our family is not that big, mas makakamura kami sa mas maliit na resort. This year, they were supposed to stay at Pooltrip Private Resort pero not available so napunta sila sa mas maliit na resort which is Pooltrip 2 Private Resort. We were not able to attend the family reunion because we were in Taiwan, but I blogged about the Pooltrip Private Resort two years ago.

Mother’s Day Getaway at Palm Beach Resort

A few days after our Taiwan Trip, my mom was itching to travel, and she wanted to have a family outing again, but this time beach naman. So we started to look for beach resorts in Batangas and Subic, but most of the resorts that we checked were fully booked, and some resorts naman, do not offer full board meals.

So I suggested the Palm Beach Resort, and fortunately, they have available rooms for us. My sister-in-law was the one who booked the resort and full payment agad at the time of booking.

We booked 3 Casa Blanca Rooms with pool and sea view, the rate of the Premier Room is PHP10,500, and the De Luxe Room is PHP10,000. These rooms are good for 4 people. For 11 persons, the total expense for rooms is PHP31,000.

Inclusions:
Welcome drinks
Room accommodation
Unlimited purified drinking water and Batangas-brewed coffee.
Use of resort facilities: beach, infinity pool and jacuzzi.
Complimentary wireless internet in designated areas

Full Board Meals is PHP2,200 per person. This includes buffet lunch, PM snack, dinner, and breakfast with bottomless juice during meals.

Meal Schedule

Lunch: 12:00 - 2:00PM
PM Snack: 3:30 - 4:30PM
Dinner: 7:00 - 9:00PM
Breakfast: 7:00 - 9:00PM

For the driver, we paid an additional PHP2,200 for the driver’s quarter and packed meals.

Check-in time is 2PM, but we still left early to avoid the traffic. My immediate family arrived past 10AM, and my family arrived past 11AM. Upon arrival, may nag-assist na agad sa amin sa parking so nahatid na agad kami sa reception.

At the reception, the staff asked for the Tourism Fee Receipt (PHP50 per person) and informed us about the meal schedules, and she just said na nasa Cabana na yung mga kasama namin. We stayed at the Cabana while waiting for lunch and rooms. My sister-in-law asked if binigyan ba kami ng welcome drinks, waah! Nakalimutan kami bigyan so we went back to the reception to get our drinks, buti na lang malapit lang ang reception.

Usually, the first meal is PM Snack, but we requested na lunch yung una just like our first visit. Lunchtime is 12NN, so we went to the dining pavilion before 12NN, but we were surprised kasi late na pala kami, actually paubos na yung ibang food nung dumating kami, so wala kami maayos na picture ng buffet spread, so I will just share the menu.

Palm Beach Resort Menu

Lunch: Molo Soup, Steamed Pandan Rice, Asian Vegetables, Bam-I, Sweet and Sour Fish, Chicken Inasal, Pork Adobo, Cassava cake, Seasonal Fruits, Iced Tea, and Brewed Coffee or Tea.
PM Snack: Palmbeach Lomi, Spanish Bread, Turon with Caramel Sauce, Lychee Juice, and Brewed Coffee or Tea.
Dinner: Minced Pork Soup, Fresh Garden Salad, Steamed Pandan Rice, Alfredo Pasta, Amatriciana Pasta, Fish Teriyaki, Chicken Pastel, Lechon Kawali, Buko Salad, Chocolate Revel Bar, Seasonal Fruits, Cucumber Juice, and Brewed Coffee or Tea.
Breakfast: Champorado with Dilis, Homemade Spreads, Freshly Baked Breads, Steamed Pandan Rice, Scrambled Eggs, Boiled Eggs, Daing na Bangus, Pork Longganisa, Corned Beef, Seasonal Fruits, Pineapple Juice, and Brewed Coffee or Tea.

I am not sure kung hindi pa sila nainformed na lunch ang start ng meal namin kasi wala kaming pwesto pa so naghanap ulit kami ng pwesto, Nag-improve na nung PM Snack kasi may reserved table na for our group. Also, mas marami na yung food choices compared sa first visit namin.

Casa Blanca Rooms

Check-in is 2PM, and they gave us the keys 15 minutes before 2PM.

Premier Room

Compared to Casa Isabel, our rooms are much better. It is spacious; there is a sofa bed, a separate shower, sink, and toilet.

The staff will inform you kung ano yung laman ng room and ask you to sign the paper so that if ever may nawala, you need to pay for it. They always check the room upon check-out.

Shampoo, Body Wash, Hand Soap, Dental kit are provided. When it comes to towels, hand towel and face towel, nagtataka lang ako bakit hindi good for four 4 persons lahat. We only have 4 towels, 2 hand towels, and 2 face towels.

Deluxe Room

The only difference ng Premier Room and Deluxe Room is walang sofa bed. Compared to our first visit, okay ang rooms namin; may hot and cold shower, and malamig ang aircon. There is complimentary bottled water.

No more complimentary use of aqua shoes, but you can buy, PHP500 for a pair of aqua shoes. Overall, we enjoyed our weekend getaway; we ate, swam, and slept.

Upon check out, we were surprised because the resort gave us a Mother’s Day Gift. Early check out kami para maaga din makauwi.

The Great BDO Travel Sale Experience

We welcomed year 2025 without specific travel plans so when my friend asked me noong nagreunion kami sa Guevarra’s by Chef Laudico kung saan ang biyahe namin? I said, wala pa kami plans. Then after a few days, my husband and I went to SM Aura, biglaan lang yung trip and first time namin sa Great BDO Travel Sale. If you are regular reader of this blog, you knew na sa PTAA Travel Tour Expo lang kami madalas magpunta.

We arrived at SM Aura, 15 minutes before 10AM and exactly 10AM, nagstart na sila magpapasok pero nauna yung pila ng mga Senior Citizens and hindi sila konti ha, ang dami nila so since marami na nauna, mahaba na pila pagpasok namin especially sa Philippine Airlines so we just went to Jetstar booth.

Jetstar Airline

We went to Jetstar since my husband decided na sa Singapore na lang mag70th birthday yung Father-in-law ko. Pang Number 6 kami and while waiting for our number, nagtry ako magmock book so I can compare if makakamura ba talaga or not. Unfortunately, sobrang bagal ng internet connection doon so ending hindi ako magkapagcompare.

At that time, yung nakasale is Clark to Singapore, Manila to Singapore, Manila to Osaka, Manila to Nagoya, and Manila to Narita. For Manila to Singapore, the rate is PHP8,064 (round-trip). The rate is already okay but sa dami ng add-ons, feeling ko hindi rin ako nakatipid.

The staff offered us the Flex-Plus, so aside sa bag, meal and seat, may added benefits like date and time change, free same day changes, credit voucher if you cancel your flight, change of destination, and loyalty rewards. Sounds good di ba so ito na lang pinili namin ni hubby para matapos na and nagugutom na rin kasi kami. We paid PHP24,779 for two persons, and take note, hindi pa kasama yung travel tax na PHP1620.

PHP8,064 + Flex Plus inclusion = PHP11,889.14 plus PHP500 for service fee = PHP12,389.14

We finished past 11AM, and we still checked other booths because I wanted to book for our Taiwan Trip since hindi kami sasama sa Singapore pero ang haba talaga ng pila. I saw Starlux and I told my husband, to check the Clark to Taipei flight pero ang sabi sa kanya, PHP11,476 daw yung round trip ticket. Ang layo sa $111 na nakalagay sa flyer so we did not book.

Lunch at NIU by Vikings

After that, we went to NIU by Vikings for lunch and took advantage of the 30% off promo. I already blogged about this; you can check my review here. We also returned to NIU by Vikings for my son’s Moving Up Celebration

Jetstar Airline Online Booking

When we booked the Manila to Singapore to Manila flight, the staff only asked for the seat selections, so pagkauwi namin, I checked their booking and added meals. There are several options, but they chose Hainanese Roasted Chicken Rice, Nasi Lemak with Fried Fish Patties, and Beef Rendang with Nasi Putih.

Since hindi ako makapagmock book sa expo, after adding meals online, I also tried to book a flight. If I chose the Starter Plus Option. The total is PHP10,667.14 and if I chose Flex Plus the toral is PHP13,097.14. So konti lang naman pala yung natipid, parang mas mahal pa yung gas, toll and food namin. Toink.

I also realized na hindi ko naman need ng add-ons. Ang importante lang naman, may bag, seat and meals. So if we did not go to travel sale, for sure yung Starter Plus Option lang ang ibobook ko. Sayang yung PHP3,444.72, pandagdag din sana sa Travel Tax. Anyway, charged to experience and at least nakakain ako sa NIU by Vikings.

Starlux Airline Online Booking

On another note, what I like about the Great BDO Travel Sale is that some airlines allow online booking, just use their promo code and lalabas na yung discounted rate. So I tried to book Clark to Taipei to Clark and was surprised kasi mas mura compared sa sinabi sa amin ng staff sa travel expo, but I have not booked the ticket yet.

Pinag-isipan ko kasi kung sasama ba kami sa Singapore or magTaiwan but in the end, I chose Taiwan so the following morning, we booked Clark to Taipei to Clark and rate is PHP8742.03 per person. After two days, I mentioned to my mom that we were going to Taiwan and she wanted to join our trip. Good thing, may promo pa. Although mas mataas na yung rate niya, PHP9,423.05.

The rate includes baggage and meals, and I can definitely say, super sulit yung promo kasi mas mahal pa yung Batanes, Davao, and Bohol airfare namin. Also, Starlux is not a budget airline and naenjoy namin yung flight experience when we went to Taiwan last month.

Mother’s Day Craft Project

Sharing my craft projects for Mother’s Day.

I Heart U Mom Shadow Box

A few months ago, I made this I Heart U Mom Layered Craft because Mother’s Day in Norway is every second Sunday of February. I already gave this to my mom since she is here for a vacation. You can download this design if you have a Design Bundles Plus Membership

Comic Mother’s Day Card

After making the Comic Birthday Card for Bee Happy Weeklies Week 12: Comic, I also found this Comic Mother's Day Card on Cricut Design Space. I flattened the design because I wanted a print and then a cut version.

Mother and Daughter Card

This design is also on Cricut Design Space. This is a simple card using the draw and cut function.

Mom Flower Pot

The flower pot is from Craft with Sarah's website; this is part of her Flower Pot Collection.

Mother and Baby Owl Card

I cut this Mother& Baby Owl because I wanted to use it for a card, but I changed my mind.

Mother’s Day Card

Instead of the owl, I cut the Spring Flowers in a Jar of Craft with Sarah for my card. I used an embossing folder, cutting dies, and stamps for other card elements. This was my entry for Bee Happy Weeklies 19: Love You Mom.

Mother’s Day Gift Card Holder

The Mother’s Day Gift Card Holder is designed by Dreaming Tree. Aside from cardstock, you need Distress Oxide or Ink for ink edging and beads for additional decoration.
