Prosperity Candle

If you still remember my Typhoon Glenda post, my husband went to grocery to buy candles but the only candles that he saw was this, prosperity candles.

Last Saturday was my birthday so I used it. Some people are candle color believer, in fact I also see this in some churches where each color has meaning like in Candle Chapel in Tagaytay and in Liliw Church.

Some people use this on Birthday, New Year and other occasions. It says in the package, “Light the candles as a symbol of blessings you may receive as you celebrate any special occasion at any season. Keep the candles burning. The candle that melts the quickest will signify the most beautiful blessing you will have”

In my case, the red candle was the first melted candle.

1st Red - Love
2nd Pink - Health
3rd Yellow - Harmony
4th Green - Wealth
5th White - Purity
6th Peach - Long Life
7th Blue _ Peace

My son said, "Mommy, rainbow candle"
"It is said" Candles, when combined with prayer and faith, can produce miracles.

  1. I love those things! But the ones I bought were meant to be lit on New Year's Eve. Then same thing as what you mentioned. Supposed to signify your most abundant blessings for the coming year. I remember nga I bought around 30 packs for those to give out as gifts. =)

  2. Hahaha! Rainbow candle nga! And the melted candle looked pretty ah! :)

  3. I didn't know that each color has a designated meaning. ... so cute.

  4. Didn't know the meanings until now. But I love the rainbow candle!

  5. I always do this specially pag nasa Quiapo Church ako. Isa lang naman ang prayer ko to keep my family from harm. I love how they designate the color to a specific meaning mahirap din yun ha? Thanks for sharing :)

  6. I have one favorite candle - the birthday candle. :) I especially love it when we light one up on a birthday cake as our family sing 'happy birthday' to celebrate the birth of our Savior. :)

  7. First time to hear about this. I wanna do this sa birthday ni hubby this month and sa new year too.

  8. I've never heard of doing this before. That's really interesting. I want to do this on my next birthday but that's still months from now!

  9. We always light up prosperity candles after church. We usually light up red, green, and yellow.

  10. I like the idea, its a simple ceremony pero very meaningful, pwede din palang birthday activity ito!:)

  11. i also believe in prosperity candles....i usually light up all colors whenever i hear mass at st jude. :-)

  12. I believe in prosperity candles too but my husband questioned me about it that what if the color was different from what we've been praying or wishing for? Does it mean that it will not come true because it is not the color you need for your desire. :-) Can't answer him hehehe... but I still want to believe that the color matters ♥
